Rob Leavitt, Principal
 

A veteran marketing strategist, Rob specializes in issues- and content-based marketing for solutions, helping companies create distinction in the marketplace and have strategic conversations with clients, prospects, and market influencers.

Prior to Solutions Insights, Rob was Vice President of Marketing at Truman Company, a consultancy specializing in executive relationship marketing, and Vice President of Marketing and Member Advocacy at the Information Technology Services Marketing Association (ITSMA).

At ITSMA, Rob worked with many of the world’s top technology, telecom, and professional services companies, including Accenture, Cisco, EDS, HP, IBM, Lucent, Microsoft, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and SAP. He organized dozens of marketing leadership events, and authored numerous articles and reports on solutions marketing and related issues, including marketing leadership, branding, thought leadership, social media, partners and alliances, corporate communications, and cause-related marketing. Rob played a central role in developing ITSMA’s research and expertise on solutions, edited the monthly ITSMA newsletter, launched and produced the Marketing on the Verge blog, and spoke frequently on marketing innovation, trends, and best practices.

Before ITSMA, Rob owned his own consulting firm, specializing in market research, business and project development, and public relations for corporate and nonprofit clients. He has also managed research and professional training programs at New York University and Harvard University, and has designed and led media projects in more than a dozen countries.

Rob holds a Bachelor's degree in U.S. History from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master's in Political Science from MIT. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Public Education Center, a nonprofit media organization in Washington, DC. Rob is also a Senior Associate at ITSMA and an affiliate of the Bloom Group, which specializes in thought leadership marketing for professional services firms.
